Bächler-Sidler AG emerged from a form printing company and is now a leading company for customized print communication in Switzerland. Founded over a century ago, the family business has developed into a full-service provider in the printing sector. Florian Bächler is the fourth generation to manage the company and, together with his 40-strong team, fulfils the promise of offering high-quality and personalized communication solutions on a daily basis.

Local servers: An obstacle to agility and GDPR compliance

Bächler-Sidler AG was faced with the challenge of managing order peaks and large special orders with its IT infrastructure on local servers. Due to the rigid nature of the local server infrastructure, it was not possible to provide additional resources quickly. An additional problem was the unequal configuration of Mac and Windows devices, as it significantly increased the administrative effort and made it difficult to create a uniform working environment for users, which led to inefficient processes.

This includes not only the setup and commissioning of Mac and Windows devices, but also the roll-out of all applications on both device types. This means that all users, regardless of whether they have a Mac or Windows device, have access to the same tools, which significantly simplifies collaboration.

Central management also significantly reduces the administration effort, which leads to considerable cost savings. The reduction in administration work results from various factors.
